Riparian Closed Woodland or Forest in the following conditions:

  • canopy cover 25-50%
  • subcanopy and shrub cover >70%, with subcanopy cover contributing >40%
  • habitat patches >4 ha (10 ac) and >40 m (130 ft) in width
  • ≤10% of the habitat area should be hostile habitat (i.e., urban, residential, high density rural, agriculture)
  • >1 km (0.6 mi) from urban/residential areas
  • >5 km (3 mi) from high-use cowbird areas
  • maintain cowbird parasitism rates below 10%
